So your New Year Started with an engagement?! Congratulations! According to surveys, getting married is one of the most stressful life events you can go through. Also, one of the most rewarding! So much planning and preparing for that one special day, and today we’ll break down an easy to follow “Bridal Checklist” for your spa services to get you ready for the big day. Hitting the spa with your girlfriends the day of the wedding can add some extra stress if you (like me) are a total control freak. Being prepared and staying on top of awesome skincare and wellness routine can make all the difference in how you feel on the big day.
First and foremost, all brides are beautiful, but if there is something that YOU want to improve to look and feel your best on your big day, GO FOR IT! Not every bride will need or want all the services we’re going to cover today so don’t feel overwhelmed by all the possibilities, find a professional esthetician you trust and if you can try to stick to one facility. Here is why, one facility may use different equipment (lasers, chemical peels, injectables) than the next and if you’re doing a lot of different treatments, it is very difficult to keep track of downtime that is essential for your skin to recover/improve. As well as the difference in equipment sticking with one esthetician through the entire process helps you establish what works for you and what doesn’t. Do your research, schedule consultations and find someone who wants to help you look your best for your big day.
So many brides first thought is weight loss or body contouring of some sort. Some great options for achieving your goals may include starting a weight loss program, doing a detox or cleanse, increasing your activity or body contouring services. These are all things you will want to start at least 6 months before your big day. Most body contouring treatments like the radiofrequency skin tightening are done in a series of treatments, usually done once a month or weekly. At 6 months out you should also be evaluating your skincare routine and incorporating Hydrafacial into your monthly regimen. Talk with your esthetician about home care products to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
If you’re interested in trying Botox/Dysport before your big day, we recommend getting your first Botox/Dysport treatment at 4 months out. This treatment is done about every 3 months and if it is your first time you will want a “trial run” if you will to see how your muscle movement is effected for pictures. This timeline also sets you up perfectly to get your next treatment about a month before the wedding. Restylane Dermal filler is another injectable that you may be interested in getting before your wedding, maybe add some fullness to your lips or lift your cheeks. Consult with your injector about your areas of concern and see what they recommend, depending on the area you’re treating you can get this done anywhere from 1-3 months before the wedding.
The big day is fast approaching and all your hard work and planning are about to pay off! At about a month out from your wedding, you’ll want to get your Botox/Dysport done again and any last-minute body contouring services, like skin, tightening or body wraps. Hopefully, since you’ve been getting your monthly Hydrafacial your skin is in excellent condition, get your last Hydrafacial at least 2 weeks before the wedding, this is also a great time to book for an injection followup to make sure you’re happy with all your Botox/Dysport or Filler.
Planning your wedding is stressful and can take away from your self-care with all the elaborate planning you’ll do. Having a clear plan in mind and a great esthetician to guide you, you can have the best skin of your life for your big day. Every bride and budget is different so don’t feel like you have to do ALL the things, discuss with a professional what treatments will get you to your desired results and stick to a good home care regimen.
